Meet Susan
NeuroAchieve UK was set up by conductor Susan Mechan to bring specialist Conductive Education to people where they live: in their own homes, schools and care homes.

I came to Conductive Education later than most, driven by deep personal experience: many years as a family carer.
I know first-hand what it feels like to sit on the family’s side of the table: the emotional weight, the exhaustion, the quiet grief, and the fierce, protective love. I also saw how easily traditional systems focus on what a person can’t do, rather than uncovering what they can learn.
That lived experience became my calling. At fifty I went back to university: three years of training at the National Institute of Conductive Education in Birmingham, and in 2015 I qualified as a conductor with First Class honours.
Since qualifying I’ve worked hands-on with children and adults in Conductive Education, in senior roles covering client services and safeguarding. I’ve seen what patient, skilled, and joyful practice can achieve when someone is supported not as a passive patient, but as an active, capable learner.
That’s why NeuroAchieve UK comes to you: to bring specialist neuro rehab into your home, school, or care home, where real life actually happens.
