Specialist movement sessions for your residents

Small-group and one-to-one Conductive Education for residents living with Parkinson’s, stroke, MS and other neurological conditions, with practical ideas your staff can use every day.

What your home gets

More than a chair-exercise class

Each resident works towards their own goals, in a sociable group led by a qualified conductor.

Sessions built around each resident

Standing to transfer, walking to the dining room, holding a cup: every resident has their own goals.

Meaningful, person-centred activity

Active, sociable sessions that give residents purpose and structure, and support your approach to person-centred care.

Carry-over for your team

Short, practical prompts your staff can use in daily routines to encourage residents to do more for themselves.

Clear records

Brief session notes and resident goals you can add to care plans, share with families and show at inspection.

Families kept in the loop

Families are welcome to join a session and see what their relative is working on.

One point of contact

The same conductor each week, who gets to know your residents and your team.

How it works

From taster to weekly programme

  1. A free taster

A 45-minute group session for up to eight residents, at no charge, so residents and staff can see what it’s like.

  2. Resident goals

We meet residents who would benefit and agree goals with them, their families and your team.

  3. Weekly sessions

The same day each week: a group session for up to eight residents. One-to-one time can be added for residents who need it, charged separately (see prices).

  4. Review every three months

Every three months we sit down with you to go through participation and goals, and plan the next three months. A formal written report, for a family or a funder, is charged separately (see prices).

Standards

Careful, qualified and easy to work with

Sessions are led by a degree-qualified conductor. We work within your home’s policies, risk assessments and care plans, and we’re happy to complete your visiting-professional paperwork.

Our safeguarding page sets out how we work within your home’s own safeguarding policy and reporting route, and how consent works for residents who can’t decide for themselves.

Our sessions are educational movement sessions. They don’t include personal care or clinical treatment, and they’re planned alongside the care your home already provides.

Questions managers ask

Which residents are likely to benefit?

Residents living with Parkinson’s, stroke, MS or other neurological conditions who can take part in a seated or standing group, with support where needed. We’ll help you decide at the taster session.

Is it suitable for residents living with dementia?

Many residents living with dementia enjoy the rhythm, songs and routine of group sessions. We adapt to each person and work with your team to decide who is likely to enjoy it.

What space do you need?

A lounge or dining room, and sturdy chairs without wheels. We bring everything else.

How much does it cost?

The monthly package is £300 for one group session a week (four a month), with resident goals and session notes. A single group session is £85. See all prices. Some homes share the cost of one-to-one work with families.
